Hitting the pause button to do my CAF Basic Military Officer Qualification course
Updated: Sep 11, 2019
Many of you may know I joined the Royal Canadian Navy Reserve back in March of this year. I am joining to become a Public Affairs Officer (PAO). Part of the requirement for this part-time position is that I undergo the same basic military training all recruits of the Canadian Armed Forces experience. Throughout, I will also have Officer specific training that adds an additional two weeks to my total training plan.
I have begun some of this training at HMCS Queen Charlotte here in Charlottetown recently. However, from 16 September to 6 December I will be full time in training at the Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School in St.-Jean sur Richelieu, Quebec. During this time, I am putting my work with Saddle Up Management on hold.
It's just a 12 week period and I will be much the better for it. I will look forward to getting back in the saddle come the new year and 2020 is already promising to be an exceptional year.
Wishing you my best for now and look forward to reconnecting with you soon.
